Volunteers’ Week 2022

Volunteers’ Week 2022 is a time to say thanks.

Every year, between 1st and 7th June, the UK comes together to celebrate the extraordinary contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK.  And we are doing the same in Harpenden.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Harpenden Trust – no home visit, coffee morning, befriending relationship, contact with the main office, seniors’ outing, family outing, support for funding local community projects, hall booking, Christmas parcel delivery, transport journey, Memory Lane Café visit, Frazzled Café conversation, wellbeing friend contact, wellbeing pottery or painting class, wellbeing walk, Seniors’ Fair event, Vaccination Centre welcome, Christmas Appeal envelope delivery, board or committee meeting, or small piece of practical local support to someone in need .… and everything else we do …. would be the same (or even possible) without all your amazing help!  And yes – that’s all 500 of you!! What an incredible team effort!!!

The support of our volunteers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and ever since, has shown the real strength in sticking together as a community through difficult times. If you have not already done so – do take the opportunity this weekend to watch (or even re-watch) our short film that we produced last year, where so many share what is means to them to volunteer locally with the Harpenden Trust, supporting our local community in so many ways. The film also remains easily accessible from the home page of our website.

This year, Volunteers’ Week coincides with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. Whatever your plans … do enjoy the long Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend!!

And … THANK YOU so much!!
