Harpenden Trust Seniors Fair

On Wednesday, 9th April the Harpenden Trust held its annual Seniors Fair at the Eric Morecambe Centre.  What an amazing day!  We had a total of 343 visitors, and over 40 exhibitors representing a wide variety of organisations including commercial, community groups, activity clubs, service providers, charities and representatives from both the Harpenden Town Council and St Alban’s City and District Council.  The Seniors Fair was honoured to host Ian Piggot, Deputy Lieutenant to the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, who visited the Seniors Fair accompanied by Richard Nichols, Chair of The Harpenden Trust.

The Harpenden Trust Well Bean Café, together with volunteers from both the Trust and Inner Wheel ran the extremely busy Refreshments Area providing tea and coffee, a huge variety of home-made cakes and home-made sausage rolls.   There was no charge for refreshments, but donations were accepted on behalf of the Rennie Grove Hospice and raised just over £700!  A huge thank you to all the volunteers, the hard-working staff at the EMC and the visitors who attended and helped make this year’s Seniors Fair such a success!
