In Honour of Billy Gibbons' Contribution to the Harpenden Trust

In honour of Billy Gibbons' contribution to the Harpenden Trust, the Trust is proud to have committed to cleaning his grave at Westfield Cemetery every 5-years. The grave was cleaned in 2019 and has just been cleaned again in May of this year.

This commitment began in 2009 following the request from Mr Gibbons’ sister, and continues today thanks to Mrs Wendy Gray, Mr Gibbons' niece, who contacted the Trust again in 2014 following her mother's passing. Mrs Gray sent the Trust a map showing the position of the grave and the Harpenden Trust then arranged for the grave to be cleaned by Graveside Maintenance.

The cleaning comprises of:

  • removal of old foliage, weeds and debris from the stone area
  • cleaning of the headstone and kerb
  • raking the grass area surrounding the grave

Ann Marie, the owner of Graveside Maintenance, provides unique and tailored care towards each grave, remembering “all of the individual preferences for each grave that [she] cleans such as what flowers and plants to lay.” She states, “I love my work because I know it makes my clients happy to see their families' graves looking well-kept when they can’t get there for whatever reason.”
