Harpenden Trust Community Fund contribute to repair and purchase of new play equipment for St Nicholas Primary School

The Community Fund are delighted to have contributed towards the repair of the school playground and provision of new play equipment at St Nicholas Primary School. The school PTA have been very proactive in raising funding and the responses from the children confirm it has been money well spent. This is very much reflected in the comments from not just the headteacher and PTA chair but also from the pupils themselves.

Mrs Crouch, Headteacher:   "We are incredibly grateful to the Harpenden Trust for their generous support of our new playground. Thanks to your funding of £19,000, we were able to complete the upgrade within a year, which would have taken us many years without your help. The children are absolutely loving the new space, enjoying the freedom to run around and play on the exciting new equipment. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the Harpenden Trust."

Siobhan Morton, PTA Chair:    'We are so fortunate to have received this funding from the Harpenden Trust and extend our thanks to everyone on the committee for their support. We are thrilled that with the help of the Trust we have been able to ensure the new playground is developed much sooner than planned. We have an active PTA who work hard to support the school and fundraise, and we are grateful to everyone for their support - this really does demonstrate what can happen when the whole community joins together to support one another.'

Children's quotes:
'We really like the new equipment, especially the new bridge because the old one was old and had bits falling off it'
'We have lots more space to run around which we like'
'I like the new climbing equipment and I also like being able to run around more'
'I like the musical instruments in the garden and also we know have a stage which is cool'.
