The Harpenden Trust had a very busy day at the recent (Saturday, 18 June) Carnival on the Common. The hands-on bubble activity was on full-throttle from the moment the Carnival started at 12:00 noon to around 5:15pm. Even the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm! For the younger children who were not comfortable with bubbles, we had a 'hook a duck' game, where they found a small packet of sweets or a lollipop inside the 'duck', or they just ran around popping the bubbles (and in the case of some budding kick boxers, kicking the bubbles). We were told that our stand was the most fun at the Carnival!
We had several visitors to the stand who were interested in more information about the Trust and activities they could join to meet others (they were directed to our website and the office phone number) and one client came by to ask for assistance who will be calling in to the office this week. Another visitor had her mum moving in with her who has dementia and she will be checking the website for information on the Memory Cafe. Two visitors were from groups who had benefitted from a contribution from the Community Fund and wanted to express their appreciation.
