This is how the Harpenden Trust Community Fund has helped various organisations in the AL5 area since April 2018:
A Little Lunch - £250 to meet an increasing demand for their lunches
Young Enterprise - £1,500 for training children in business
High Beeches School - £4,000 to develop the Trim Trail in their playground
Larder Louts/Kitchen Front - £5,950 for the provision of cooking classes
The Lea Primary School - £7,800 for the preparation of an interactive playground space
St Nicholas School - £10,000 for the building of a new entrance to improve security
Clover Singing Group - £340 to start a new singing group in Southdown
Friends of Greenway Spinney - £1,700 for the completion of the pathway through the Spinney
Harpenden Cricket Club - £25,000 for refurbishment of pavilion and provision of new cricket nets, in addition to £25,000 granted for refurbishment in 2017
Harpenden Lions Club - £1,500 to promote drug awareness in schools
Volunteer Police Cadets - £690 to purchase a portable gazebo for exhibitions
Grove Junior School - £10,000 for the extension of the school library
United Reform Church - £10,000 for the provision of astroturf for a toddler play area
Friends of Roundwood Primary School - £10,000 for the renovation of an outdoor play area
Kinsbourne Common Nursery - £3,100 for astroturf for their play area and the removal of a tree
Batford Memorial Hall - £12,750 to renovate the car park and garden
Harpenden Mencap - £8,200 for a new phone system
Harpenden Academy - £10,000 for the provision of new play equipment
Homedell House - £1,000 for a TV for residents in their common room
