Community Fund Donations

This is how the Harpenden Trust Community Fund has helped various organisations in the AL5 area since April 2021:

Young Enterprise - £1,500 for training children in business

St Nicholas School - £10,000 for the building of a new entrance to improve security

Harpenden Lions Club - £1,500 to promote drug awareness in schools

Harpenden Mencap - £8,200 for a new phone system

Harpenden Rovers Junior Football Club - £9,000 for the purchase of equipment and kit

Pop-up-Pottery - £3,540 to set-up a pottery, run on an entirely voluntary and free-to-use basis for young and old.

Rothamsted Playpark - £30,000 contribution towards the provision of a new Playpark  

Harpenden Plus - £6,000 for support for children with mental issues in Harpenden

Sing From the Heart - £4,180 for the provision of music to care homes and local community centres

Manland Primary School - £10,000 towards the replacement of the school library 

Lea Primary School - £9,500 for the provision of an outside play and learning area 

Mencap - £5,000 for the installation of IT facilities in their residential centre 

St. Dominic's Primary School - £10,000 towards a 'Daily Mile' track in the school grounds, an all-weather sporting facility for use throughout the year  

St. Mary's Church, Kinsbourne Green - £2,310 for the renovation of the play area and paved area

Willow Court Care Home - £1,600 for the repair of their gazebo and provision of inside activities for residents 

Batford Springs Boardwalk and Reed Fen - £7,400 towards the building of a boardwalk and reed fen built by local volunteers

Batford Memorial Hall - £2,000 for emergency roof repairs

Batford Nursery School - £2,500 for art therapy classes

Sauncey Wood Primary School - £6,000 for a sensory garden project

Fusion Pre-school - £5,000 on a new learning area at St Johns church

Grove Infant and Nursery School - £10,000 to replace old play equipment 

Grove Junior School - £7,810 to furnish a new library

Harpenden and Wheathamstead Scouts - £1,200 to attend an international Scout jamboree

Harpenden Academy - £15,000 to refurbish a new library

Harpenden Lions Club - £2,500 to undertake a life-skills programme in Harpenden schools 

Highfield Pre-school - £4, 000 for the refurbishment of school premises

Hornbeam Wood Hedgehog Sanctuary - £5,825 for the construction of a storage shed and shop

Katherine Warington School - £15,000 on equipping the school gym

Lea Primary School - £12,500 towards the conversion of a shipping container into a wellbeing hub

Manland Primary School - £15,000 for the construction of an outside play and study area for the reception class

Pop Up Pottery - £3,645 for the purchase of new pottery wheels

Real Inspiration - £5,000 to support craft and wellbeing projects

United Reform Church - £5,000 for the purchase of interactive whiteboards

Wood End School - £10,000 for a new school library

Young Enterprise - £1,500 towards training schoolchildren in business skills
