Trust Community Fund Sponsors new Harpenden Playpark

Members of the Harpenden Trust team were delighted to attend the re-opening of the playpark in Rothamsted Park, Harpenden last weekend, following a £250,000 redevelopment.

The Harpenden Trust's Community Fund supported the redevelopment by becoming a major sponsor of the playpark through the Playground Action Rothamsted Committee (PARC), which led the fundraising and project overall.

The much anticipated renovation of the playpark has incorporated many exciting features including: a fenced toddler zone; swings and other play equipment accessible to those with disabilities; imaginative, sensory and educational play in a Fantastic Forest; a variety of swings, slides and climbing equipment to challenge all ages and abilities; and picnic benches and additional seating to encourage friends and family to come together and enjoy a longer stay. The playpark also features the Trust's iconic 'Purple Plaque' as part of the signage.

Steve Pryor, Chair of the Community Fund at the Harpenden Trust, said: “The re-opening of Rothamsted Playpark was a really positive occasion after challenging times for so many over the pandemic. The Harpenden Trust Community Fund is delighted to be a major sponsor of the playpark, which will bring so much joy to families in Harpenden for many years to come.”
