The Harpenden Trust Community Fund helps Batford Methodist Church

Batford Methodist Church is an important centre for community activity but the spacious hall used for such purposes needed refurbishment. The Harpenden Trust Community Fund were delighted to contribute to this project.

A variety of groups use the hall and the newly painted walls have brightened it up, enhancing its appeal for the local community. Those set to benefit include:

  • Butterflies - a term-time toddler group.
  • Coffee morning and warm spaces - a Friday coffee morning and warm spaces throughout the winter where people can enjoy friendship and a soup lunch.
  • Seaside Craft Club - a summer event providing enjoyable and affordable activities for local families. This has been particularly appreciated on rainy days, as one parent said “Thank you so much for a great morning doing seaside craft. My kids had a wonderful time and could not wait to get home and show off all the items they had made. We would love to do this again sometime!”

Deacon Sarah Wickett (Minister at Batford Methodist Church) said “Thank you Harpenden Trust!”
