Last Saturday the Ribbon Cancer Support Group hosted a family picnic to celebrate its first anniversary! Although the clouds were very dark in the morning, the sky cleared in time for the celebration. The group met at Batford Springs and spent a lovely time chatting, sipping Pimms and ginger beer and eating exquisite brownies. It was a great way to mark the first year of the Group's activity.

Backed by Macmillan Cancer Support, the Ribbon Cancer Support Group runs every Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm-3.00pm at the Harpenden Trust Halls in Southdown, and provides a safe space where people with a cancer diagnosis can meet and connect with others who share similar experiences.

A huge thank you to the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra who performed at St Nicholas Church, Harpenden on Saturday 19th September in celebration of their 60th anniversary. A fantastic total of just over £600 was raised and donated to the Harpenden Trust! Alex Fryer conducted, Emily Groom was the leader, and the organist was Robert Mingay-Smith.
