Herts Advertiser Reports on 'Crucial' Role of the Harpenden Trust Throughout the Pandemic

The Harpenden Trust was delighted this week to be recognised by the Herts Advertiser for the 'crucial' role they [the Trust] has played in the community throughout the pandemic.

In a piece marking the one year anniversary since the UK first went into lockdown, the article highlights a number of ways the Harpenden Trust has supported Harpenden residents over this time. This includes the Harpenden Trust's Befriending service (which saw a four-fold increase during the first lockdown as isolated people sought companionship), setting up the Harpenden Cares Contact Centre to answer over 2,000 calls for Covid-19 pandemic support and assisting over 12 local GP practices with delivering oxygen monitors to local residents.

The article also highlights the important role that the Harpenden Trust has played in supporting the organisation of the Covid Vaccination centre, as well as thanking the community for their generosity in donating £65,000 for the Harpenden Trust’s annual Christmas Appeal – the most ever raised.
