Harpenden Trust Halls Open Day Supporting 'The Big Help Out'

The Harpenden Trust enjoyed a hugely successful Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday, 8 May, as part of the Coronation Weekend celebrations.

The Open Day was supporting 'The Big Help Out' campaign, a nationwide initiative designed to showcase how volunteering benefits both communities and the people who take part.

The Harpenden Trust opened its community halls at 130 Southdown Road so the people of Harpenden could discover more about the Harpenden Trust, the halls we have available to hire, and our many and varied volunteering opportunities.

Open from 10am-1pm we warmly welcomed a constant stream of visitors. Volunteers were around to answer any questions and chat with the guests. Refreshments were also provided- hot drinks and a wonderful array of delicious cakes and biscuits which were very popular and enjoyed by all!

There was a real buzz about the place, with many interesting conversations and lots of smiles and laughter. It was a perfect opportunity both to celebrate the Coronation and to shine a spotlight on the power of volunteering to help our local community here in Harpenden.
