Charity Race Night

A full house in the Trust Hall on 28th November enjoyed a Race Night organised and run entirely by volunteers from William Hill Ltd.  There were eight sponsored races, with the eight horses in each race also sponsored.  Together with profit from the Tote and the bar, the evening raised an excellent £2,337.  To the delight of the Trust and Southdown Play Area Group, William Hill Ltd later donated £500 each to both Charities under their matched funding scheme.

The photograph shows Barbara Berki, the William Hill representative, handing over the cheque to the Town Mayor and the Chairman of the Trust.
